To scan a bin, ensure the bin has a KitCheck bin tag and all items inside the bin have KitCheck item tags secured, then place the bin inside the KitCheck scanning station and click Scan. You will be redirected to the Bin Scan Summary screen.
The bin scan summary screen displays the following fields for every bin scan:
- # Items: The total number of items detected in the bin scan that have been associated to the scanned bin.
- Minimum Par: The minimum par level set for the scanned bin.
- Below Par: The difference between the minimum par level and the number of associated items detected in the bin scan.
- Expired: The number of expired items detected in the bin scan.
- Expiring: the number of expiring soon items detected in the bin scan, based on the threshold set for the scanned bin, or the default hospital setting.
The bin Scan Summary screen also allows you to view your bin’s contents either grouped by generic product, or grouped by each individual formulary item. By default, items are displayed grouped by generic product. Select the Items by Formulary Item to adjust the view and see the breakdown of each specific NDC.
Users can also select the Scan Details tab to view a detailed breakdown including the name, manufacturer, NDC, strength, package, lot, and expiration of every item in the bin.
