Item Batch Summary Report

The list of EPCs associated with each batch has been removed from the Item Batch Summary Report.

Barcode Scanning a Kit Auto-Transfers the Kit

For IDNs/Systems with “Kit Sharing” enabled between hospitals, using a handheld scanner to barcode-scan a kit will automatically reassign the kit to the receiving hospital where the user performed the action. That is, if a hub/warehouse prepares a Kit which is then sent to a spoke/hospital, the act of using a handheld scanner to barcode scan the kit tag will transfer the Kit and its contents from the hub’s inventory to the spoke’s inventory.

Knowledgebase: FreshDesk → Now in Help Icon Menu

To help facilitate easy access, the FreshDesk Knowledgebase widget can now be accessed via the Help Icon in the top right of the KitCheck application.

Starting February 1st, KitCheck will use “FreshDesk” for Software Support, as well as to host our knowledge base. While this affects a number of internal support processes, the user experience between our existing system and Freshdesk should be seamless. For explicit clarity, page-specific walk-throughs and explainers will still be accessible via the in-app widget. For a more in-depth tutorial, Freshdesk will open the videos' dedicated URLs protected by authorization tokens. Should a user need more directed help, they can access our human, support staff via the chat widget in the lower right of the application.

Updates & Fixes

Kits Indexing by Natural Sorting

A defect was fixed where the Kits page would improperly treat string and numeric portions of Kits “Physical Labels” the same. In this way, “Kit 9” would come after “Kit 10” when sorted. Moving forward, the Kits page will treat numerics as numerics, better facilitating finding a particular physical label. In the example above, “Kit 9” would now precede “Kit 10” when sorted.

Izar v9.5 Incorrect Auto-Configuration

A defect was fixed in the Izar v9.5 scanner which would incorrectly set its “hardware_type” to the “non-v9.5” option. This was due to an insufficient OS_version check in the firmware. Moving forward, the Izar v9.5 will correctly auto-configure itself.

Upcoming Features & Bug Fixes (next two releases)

February

  • Kit - Cart - Location Specificity
    • This feature will allow users/hospitals to define/constrain Kit and Cart assignments. Specifically, on a KitMaster basis, users will be able to define to which Carts and Locations each Kit is allowed to be dispatched. Similarly, users will be able to define to which Locations each Cart is allowed to be dispatched.
