Features

“NDC Barcode” added to Billing Sheet

We have added a barcode representation of each NDC and the quantity used to the KitCheck Billing Sheet. This addition will make it easier for hospital users to log item consumption and usage with the hand-held scanner as entering an NDC no longer requires keyboard interaction.

“Last Facility” added to Billing Report

For IDNs/Systems with “Kit Sharing” enabled between hospitals, the Billing Report now contains the “Last Facility” for each consumed item on the Billing Report. That is, if a hub/warehouse prepares a Kit that is then sent to and used by a spoke/hospital, KitCheck now explicitly states which items were consumed by that spoke/hospital. This further enables systems to properly allocate inventory and attribute costs to individual hospitals within the network.

KitMaster Setting: Auto-Dispatch upon Handheld Barcode Scan

There is now a KitMaster setting that lets users, with the necessary permissions, turn on the ‘auto-dispatch’ function. Currently, when a kit’s tag is barcode scanned with a handheld, the user is transferred to the kit’s last scan. From there, users can click the Dispatch button to dispatch the kit and/or update the cart, location, and lock assignments. Moving forward, if the Auto-Dispatch setting is enabled, the Dispatch module will automatically open when the barcode scans a kit tag while on the home page. This will enable users to fully dispatch kits using only a handheld scanner and barcodes for carts and locations.

KitMaster Setting: Custom Charge Sheets (Multiple Tickets)

There is now a KitMaster Setting which enables users, with the necessary permissions, to upload custom charge sheet attachments. There are five variations of this setting:

  1. Default Charge Sheet —the KitCheck-produced Charge Sheet with no addendum
  2. Custom Message — this setting enables users to populate the free-text field added to the bottom of the KitCheck-produced Charge Sheet
  3. Addendum — this setting will add an addendum to the Charge Sheet. Users can upload a PDF which is then attached to the bottom of the KitCheck produced Charge Sheet upon printing. Put another way, we copy and paste the attachment onto the bottom of the Charge Sheet.
  4. Replace — this setting will completely replace the KitCheck-produced Charge Sheet with the user-uploaded PDF.
  5. Use legacy custom charge sheet — for hospitals already using a custom Charge sheet, this setting uses any KitMaster or Hospital-wide Charge Sheet already in use

Hospital Setting: Hospital Logo (Multiple Tickets)

There is now a Hospital Setting which allows hospitals to upload one (1) Custom Logo. The logo will replace the KitCheck logo on the Charge Sheet, Billing Sheet, and Pick Lists.

Implement New Knowledgebase & Support Software: Freshdesk

Starting February 1st, KitCheck will use “FreshDesk” for Software Support, as well as to host our knowledge base. While this affects a number of internal support processes, the user experience between our existing system and Freshdesk should be seamless. For explicit clarity, page-specific walk-throughs and explainers will still be accessible via the in-app widget. For a more in-depth tutorial, Freshdesk will open the videos' dedicated URLs protected by authorization tokens. Should a user need more directed help, they can access our human, support staff via the chat widget in the lower right of the application.

Updates & Fixes

Unknown registry tags do not get added to the external epcs table.

A defect was fixed where unknown registry tags (EPCs which have not been logged in the registry by the tag manufacturer) were not logged into the “external EPC table.” By logging these EPCs, we will be better able to support our hospital, pharmaceutical, and 503b partners with tag-related technical issues.

Session Timeout Modal not working Properly after Forced Logout

A defect was fixed where users are improperly automatically logged out and unable to use the KitCheck application. Moving forward, KitCheck will properly log all types of user activity to prevent untimely automatic log-outs.

Upcoming Features & Bug Fixes (next two releases)

February

  • Kit - Cart - Location Specificity
    • This feature will allow users/hospitals to define/constrain Kit and Cart assignments. Specifically, on a KitMaster basis, users will be able to define to which Carts and Locations each Kit is allowed to be dispatched. Similarly, users will be able to define to which Locations each Cart is allowed to be dispatched.
