Load the Ribbon
- Following the blue line in Image 1, push the roll of ribbon onto the right, blue circle, all the way back. (Tip: if the ribbon roll slides around on the back spindle from wear, fasten a rubber band to the spindle to help hold the ribbon roll in place.)
- Pulling the ribbon out from underneath the ribbon roll, follow the blue line under the black plastic roller and out through the front.
- Follow the ribbon up and over onto the release spindle, where it can either be taped onto the spindle or held just with pressure, as seen in Image 2. This is done by rolling the ribbon onto itself while holding it in place at the same time so that it does not slide off until it gathers enough force to hold itself on.

Load the Labels
- Mount the roll of labels on the back label holder.
- Following the red line in Image 1, pull the labels from over the label roll and slide them under the thin, black plastic roller but between the two label guides (b in Image 1). It is sometimes helpful to fold a set of 2 labels to help slide them through the label guides.
General Adjustments
- Slide the cylinder labeled (a) in Image 1 against the label roll so that it is snug but not crushing the labels.
- Move the media guide labeled (b) in Image 1 by turning the screw directly underneath the guide (looks like a shark fin). Slide it over so that the guide holds the labels snug, but not crushing them and tighten the screw underneath the guide so that it does not move.
- Flip open the print head so that the 2 springed prongs (labeled (c) in Image 1 are pointing upwards. Adjust both by loosening the screw labeled (b) in Image 3 and sliding the left one towards the edge like in Image 5 and the right one about a finger’s width away from the first. Use the screws labeled (a) in Image 3 to tighten the springs to about half an inch, as shown in the image.
