This workflow allows your staff to use KitCheck to quickly, efficiently, and accurately replenish the medications in your disposable kits.

Disposable Kits Workflow

  1. Build a Kit Master for Disposable Kits in KitCheck.
  2. Print a detailed tag or associate a basic tag for the Disposable Kit Master.
  3. Attach the kit tag to card stock, a notecard, or something similar and place near the KitCheck scanner or designated workspace where it will be easily accessible during the scanning process.
  4. Place the card stock with the kit tag in the Disposable Kit filled with RFID-tagged medications.
  5. Scan the disposable kit until you receive the Complete Scan screen.
  6. Reuse this card stock and attached kit tag for any subsequent disposable kits that need to be filled.

Pros and Cons of the Disposable Kits Workflow

ProsCons
Prevents medication errors and increase efficiency when filling disposable kits. Inability to track medication consumption from the disposable kits.
Alert staff of any expired, expiring, recalled, or missing medication in the kit at the time of refill. Inability to track kit locations if there are more than one of this kit type on the floor at any given time.
Easily manage kit contents and make quick edits and substitutions during backorders or shortages.
